“LL” is our current herd bull. He is dual registered with the American Milking Shorthorn Society (AMSS) and American Shorthorn Association (ASA). He has been verified as native by the AMSS and received their native (N) designation. He has also been genomically tested through the ASA and has received their “AI sire” qualification as well as being cleared of the genetic defects, Tibial Hemimelia (TH), Pulmonary Hypoplasia with Anasarca (PHA), Digital Subluxation (DS), and Myostatin (MYO). Since our goal is to produce dual purpose (meat and milk) cattle, we have had him genomically tested by Neogen GeneSeek using their Igenity Dairy trait array of markers. He scored well in productive life, fertility, milk yield, and dairy form. As a result, we expect his daughters to exhibit true dual purpose characteristics in both form and function. He is A1/A2 for beta casein.
